Elaine was appointed CEO of the Lennox Institute in 2009 after first joining the organisation in 2002. Her appointment follows four years as a key member of the board of directors, responsible for client acquisition.
With a strong background in management at one of South Africa’s largest catering and cleaning companies, Elaine has played a key role in establishing the Lennox Institute as one of Australia’s leading privately owned training organisations. The Institute is widely recognised for excellence in training and has built trusted partnerships with the industry’s most respected professionals.
Elaine is firmly committed to the continued development of industry leading products and services and has been integral to the development of new, and refining the company’s existing policies and procedures to deliver measurable outcomes for Lennox’s clients.
Her ambition to improve the quality and perception of the cleaning industry has seen her promote a rigorous program of training assessment processes. This approach supports her vision of continued improvement for the industry and its staff.
A passion for developing people is high on Elaine’s agenda and every program is developed and delivered with the advancement of each participant in mind.
Elaine continues a history of industry innovation, with Lennox soon to launch greenRclean™ to complement the successful safeRclean™ program which is widely recognised as a benchmark for safe work practices. Both programs were developed in consultation with Australia’s leading cleaning organisations and industry bodies.
Under Elaine’s leadership, Lennox recently developed an Employee Personal Safety Course. It is anticipated that this training initiative will deliver numerous benefits to organisations and the wellbeing of their employees. This is an area for industry improvement which was also recently identified by the Construction Property Services Industry Skills Council.
With Lennox as one of the leading vocational education institutions within its chosen field, Elaine is driven to implement best practices, raising benchmarks within the industry, foster solid relationships with employers, students and apprenticeship centres and work collaboratively with her clients to achieve their respective objectives.
Elaine immigrated to Australia in 1996 and ran her own business before joining the Lennox Institute. In 2000, she worked as a catering, cleaning and waste manager for SOCOG at the Sydney Olympic Games. Elaine lives in Sydney, is married and has two teenage daughters.
