Health Support Services (Cleaning)

This qualification covers workers who undertake routine internal and external cleaning tasks in healthcare settings. Work may be undertaken across a range of routine cleaning tasks. The qualification includes requirements for effective work in the health industry, compliance with infection control policy and working safely. A number of units in this qualification have been drawn from the Asset Maintenance Training Package. Certificate II & III is suitable for cleaners, domestic assistants, hospital assistants, housekeeping assistants and leading hand roles.

safeRclean™ is an OH&S safety induction course  which covers the basic skills in a cleaner’s role and includes the latest competency standards. safeRclean™ was developed in response to a need within the cleaning industry for a minimum standard of knowledge for  those working in a high risk environment.

Designed to assist employers to implement and improve safe work practices while meeting OH&S obligations, the successful implementation of the program will contribute to improve the skills of the industry as a whole.

The training is delivered in a 3 hour session and each student who successfully completes the course, receives a safeRclean™ identification card as proof of completing the course. Their details are also recorded in the safeRclean™ database for future reference. The safeRclean™ qualification is portable and should be renewed every two years.

With environmental issues high on our agenda, Lennox Institute has launched greenRclean™, a program that is designed to assist cleaning organisations develop meaningful environmental policies, train at all levels, assess the status of worksites, manage change processes, implement environmental policies and monitor program success.

We have collaborated with industry specialist, Bridget Gardner from Fresh Green Clean, to develop greenRclean™ training programs which are user friendly and can be applied easily to current work environments. As such, the program and content have been developed to address the increased demand by Facilities Managers to demonstrate a commitment to green cleaning.

The program supports Green Cleaning as it relates to safe, sustainable and effective practices in the work place and includes training and support for cleaners as well as managers. The program also provides Green Cleaning Consultation Services to organisations that already employ environmentally friendly processes, but would like to further refine their approach.
