This qualification covers workers who undertake routine internal and external cleaning tasks in healthcare settings. Work may be undertaken across a range of routine cleaning tasks.

The qualification includes requirements for effective work in the health industry, compliance with infection control policy and working safely. A number of units in this qualification have been drawn from the Asset Maintenance Training Package.

Certificate II is suitable for cleaners, domestic assistants, hospital assistants and housekeeping assistants.

Certificate III provides training relevant for a team leadership, workplace training or leading hand role.

The program is running very successfully in a number of hospitals. It is considered to be an excellent course and one of immediate value to all participants and the hospital environment in which they are employed.
