  • Industry first – Access Program

    ACCESS_2-2Australian Apprenticeships Access Program

The Access program is designed to assist eligible job seekers who are experiencing difficulty to gain employment, access to further development and prevocational training.

From a business perspective the Access Program serves two primary functions. It engages only the right people with the right skills and fully supports corporate and social responsibility efforts.

    How does it work?

Initially, potential recruits were invited to information sessions hosted by industry representatives to provide an outline of the course and the career opportunities available.  The program prequalifies applicants to ensure that they are committed to being gainfully employed within the cleaning industry.

All applicants went through a stringent interview process where capabilities and motivation were reviewed and only those candidates who successfully demonstrated the skills and attitude required, were invited to participate in the next phase of the program.

ACCESS_2-1Those who successfully completed the prequalification process have since now completed their five week training program where they were trained to industry benchmark standards. The focus was to enable graduates to commence work armed with the skills and knowledge to deliver a quality service in the cleaning industry. In addition, during this five week training period, they have completed an induction program, their pre-employment checks and a one week work experience session.

The program is designed to include ongoing evaluations on individual skillsets, capabilities and motivation and develop their teamwork. Those who successfully complete the pre-employment training program are eligible for New Worker traineeship funding and are snapped up by employers.
